A creature resembling a small mole of sorts, Nifflers can be found in Hogwarts Legacy as magical beasts that provide players their Fur if captured and brought back to a pen in the Room of Requirement. Niffler Fur can upgrade the traits of a player’s gear, making it an item that should be farmed at any point in between quests during the game. If players have completed the right quests first, they will have the tools needed to track down and collect these creatures from taming.
Similar to other magical beasts such as Fwoopers in Hogwarts Legacy, Nifflers may only be captured after players complete the quest called “The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom.” The house-elf Deek gives players the Nab-Sack within this mission and teaches them how to rescue magical creatures like Nifflers.
Nifflers Locations in Hogwarts Legacy
An icon on the player’s map depicting a beast’s paw indicates that one or more magical beasts have set up a den there, although there is no information on which type of creature resides there. Only eight dens belong to Nifflers, mostly sitting in the Highlands of Hogwarts Legacy. The easiest way to track these down is to use the Floo Flame fast travel system to get near their dens or use the Revelio spell to see points of interest while exploring.
The closest Niffler Den near Hogsmeade lies to the west of the map, close to the Forbidden Forest and directly close to a Small Bandit Camp
The second den’s location is in the Forest itself, while one more can be found within the North Ford Bog. While more Niffler dens lie to the south, players will have to travel to Hogwarts Valley, south of the Feldcroft region, the Poisear Coast, Manor Cape, and Cragcroftshire to find them all.
Nifflers don’t put up much resistance when players find them, as simply using the Nab-Sack gives players the opportunity to take them back toward the Room of Requirement’s Vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy. Nifflers can also be sold at the Brood and Peck shop in Hogsmeade for 120 Galleons each. Nifflers also yield 3 Niffler Fur when brushed and fed for players to collect. Special Grey Niffler act as shiny variants of the beast players can find as well in Hogwarts Legacy, but they provide the same earnings.
