The Apple Watch also produces haptic feedback for system control and when users rotate the Digital Crown to scroll through the watch’s user interface. Generated by Taptic Engine (an advanced vibratory motor), Haptic Alerts reassure users of interaction by imitating the sensation of touching or pressing a physical button. Users can adjust the intensity of Haptic Alerts if they feel that the default setting is too weak to notice. Open the Settings app on the Apple Watch, tap ‘Sound & Haptics,’ and select ‘Prominent’ under Haptic Alerts.

Users should like Haptic Alerts, especially if they wear their Apple Watch to college or the office. Since Haptic Alerts inform users of notifications via vibrations, they don’t distract others. Additionally, the Taptic Engine on the Apple Watch can generate pulses in patterns, which informs users about different types of alerts, such as incoming calls or text messages. Even when users put their Apple Watch in silent mode, they can keep track of notifications via Haptic Alerts.

There’s another useful feature called Taptic Time which helps users keep track of time with the help of distinct vibrational taps. Apple introduced its Taptic Engine with the first Apple Watch.
