The Boys season 4 is setting up the franchise’s most powerful supe, but he could be a major character in the show’s college spin-off. Very few details are known about the story of The Boys season 4, although it will most likely be just as gory, graphic, and surprising as season 3. With The Boys season 3 ending on a cliffhanger, it seems likely that season 4 will continue the story of one young supe, making him the perfect candidate for Gen V.

Gen V is the upcoming The Boys spin-off series, with the show following several college-age supes as they compete at the Vought-run Godolkin University. Gen V will be the first live-action spin-off of The Boys, and although it isn’t known how connected the story of Gen V will be to The Boys season 4, it seems likely that there will be some heavy ties. Because of this, it would be perfect for a major character from The Boys season 4 to appear in future seasons of Gen V.

Ryan Butcher Could Appear In The Boys’ College Spinoff

Ryan Butcher is the son of Homelander and Billy Butcher’s wife, Becca. Although Ryan seemed to be a pretty good kid, The Boys season 3’s cliffhanger ending sees Ryan beginning to follow in the footsteps of his father, meaning that Ryan will most likely use his powers in the same fascistic way. However, Ryan is still young, meaning that he has a lot of training to do before he can become a full-fledged superhero. Because of this, it would be perfect for Ryan Butcher to appear in the Gen V spin-off.

Gen V is all about a school that trains young supes, meaning that Ryan would fit right in. Ryan could learn how to control his powers throughout Gen V, even competing in the supe competitions that will define the show. Gen V will mostly focus on new characters that haven’t appeared in The Boys, but having Ryan appear would seamlessly connect the two shows while actively moving the stories of both series forward.

The Boys’ Spinoff Would Give Ryan A Very Different Story

Another benefit of having Ryan appear in Gen V is that it would give him a very different story. Throughout The Boys, Ryan has been homeschooled, being secluded with his mother within a Vought-run compound. Ryan has barely seen the outside world, so throwing him into the environment of Godolkin University would be a completely new direction to take his story. On top of that, being Homelander’s son would make Ryan pretty popular at Godolkin, whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Gen V is the perfect spot to develop Ryan’s story further, which is another reason why he should appear. The Boys has so many characters that it would be difficult to give Ryan significant development in season 4. However, Gen V could have enough room to give Ryan the spotlight, making him a fully-formed character before adding him back to The Boys. Gen V already seems to be doing this with other The Boys side characters, with A-Train, Soldier Boy, and others appearing, and The Boys franchise should take this same approach with Ryan.
