RHONJ’s Jacqueline Laurita opens up about former castmate and sister-in-law Caroline Manzo after the latter’s incident while filming RHUGT.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Jacqueline Laurita gave an update on her sister-in-law and former castmate Caroline Manzo after an incident during the filming of RHUGT season 4. Jacqueline and Caroline appeared on RHONJ together for multiple seasons, but their familial bond is what keeps them close. Caroline was cast in the newest season of RHUGT and left partway through filming due to an allegedly inappropriate incident with another cast member.

In an appearance on Reality with the King, a podcast with former Real Housewives producer Carlos King, The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Jacqueline Laurita gave some insight into her sister-in-law’s condition. Jacqueline said she reached out to Caroline when everything allegedly happened with her and Brandi Glanville. Jacqueline said it was “very traumatizing” for Caroline and that she is “not well” after the whole situation. It seems that Caroline has had a hard time with the incident, understandably, and that she is having a hard time coping even after leaving RHUGT. Jacqueline is trying to be there for her sister-in-law at such a trying time.

On the podcast, Jacqueline also made some comments about how Melissa joined RHONJ. There is a new rumor that Melissa allegedly reached out to producers to get on the show. While Jacqueline claimed she knew nothing about this, she did find out later that Melissa had reached out to Danielle Staub, who was a cast member at the time to tell her “stuff.” Jacqueline alleged that Melissa was later scared about what she said to Danielle and that Danielle would spill her drama. At the end of the day, it’s understandable if Melissa was brought on board RHONJ for the drama between her and Teresa.

No matter what was said online, it makes sense that Caroline would have a hard time processing what happened during RHUGT filming. The incident between her and fellow castmate Brandi was alleged to be sexual in nature and not consensual. Any kind of non-consensual sexual encounter is very traumatizing and thus Caroline’s reaction is warranted. Hopefully, Bravo provides some kind of assistance during this time, for Caroline and everyone that was a part of the situation, but that has not been publicly shared.

It is comforting that Jacqueline is there for Caroline in this trying time, as family is more important than anything else. While much of the public is likely waiting for a statement from Caroline about the incident, it is likely that she is not yet mentally ready to relive the trauma she experienced. This may also mean that RHUGT season 4 could be axed in some way, or at least that particular portion of the show containing the incident may be removed. At the end of the day, whatever is best for the mental health of the cast members is what is necessary.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
