Watch an alternate cut of the mysterious Merge Mansion short film starring Pedro Pascal and directed by Martin Werner.

Pedro Pascal has yet another live-action project we must talk about.

When he’s not starring in the record-breaking HBO Max adaptation of The Last of Us which saw its finale last night, or voicing Din Djarin in Disney+’s flagship Star Wars show The Mandalorian – or appearing at the Oscars – he’s also appearing in Merge Mansion.

Merge Mansion is a popular (and mysterious) mobile game from Helsinki-based developer Metacore and last week they released a short film starring Pedro Pascal as Detective Tim Rockford, directed by Martin Werner, teasing what’s coming to Merge Mansion’s next milestone update on March 28th. There are three versions of this short and Screen Rant is exclusively debuting one of them where Pascal’s Detective character is investigating the secrets of the Boulton family in their mansion by learning to think like a grandma for his interrogation. What is she hiding?

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Star Pedro Pascal who plays Detective Tim Rockford:

“Merge Mansion has created a fascinating story centered around family drama filled with mystery and secrets that has captivated fans all around the world through their entertaining and unpredictable video campaigns. Making this short film for Merge Mansion was truly a unique experience and I had so much fun working with Martin to fulfill his vision and bring the lore of Merge Mansion to life. From the first day, it was clear how much love and passion the group at Metacore has for its characters and this game and I’m happy that I got to be a part of their next big moment.”

Director Martin Werner:

“This campaign has been a dream project for me. Getting the opportunity to translate the Merge Mansion game into a mockumentary short gave the crew and I the opportunity to flex all our filmic muscles. Being able to structure everything around a world class actor like Pedro Pascal took the concept to a higher level and although Pedro is playing a fictional character here, the legacy of his previous work felt like it combined perfectly with our take on the Merge Mansion universe. I am truly proud of what we have been able to put together, it required sheer precision and teamwork from the entire crew who all performed to the highest level from start to finish.”

To celebrate the launch of the highly-anticipated update planned for March 28, Metacore will transform the famed Paramour Estate into the Boulton family mansion for an immersive experience that is part live-action theater, part escape room and part lore museum. The Metacore team will be joined by Pedro Pascal and other special guests as they join in for this momentous occasion.
