Almost a year since Loki season 1’s biggest cliffhanger, Marvel Studios just spoiled its resolution ahead of the God of Mischief’s return.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania.Ahead of the God of Mischief’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU Phase 5 has already spoiled the Loki season 1 finale’s biggest cliffhanger resolution. Despite his death in Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios brought back Thor’s adopted brother as a variant who is on a different and even more dangerous arc than what the original character had in the Sacred Timeline. While it’s still unknown what lies further ahead for the Goff of Mischief, Marvel Studios has already answered a lingering question left in the Loki season 1 finale before the Disney+ series comes back for season 2.

Despite his villainous tendencies, Loki has become one of the most popular MCU characters. Loki’s Sacred Timeline redemption ended in death, but thanks to his variant’s resurgence, he is set to be more important than ever in the Multiverse Saga. Following the demise of He Who Remains, only Loki (and Sylvie) knows about the multiverse going haywire. Before the Asgardian Prince takes on a new and bigger mission, Marvel Phase 5 already confirmed how Loki season 1’s cliffhanger will be resolved.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s Post-Credits Confirms Loki & Mobius Team-up

Loki Season 2 Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson as Lokis and Mobius

At the end of Loki season 1, the God of Mischief lands in a different TVA where Mobius doesn’t know him. This is arguably one of the biggest plot twists in the show, which functions as a launching point for season 2’s story. Before Loki season 2 even premieres, however, Marvel Studios have already spoiled the resolution to the cliffhanger thanks to Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania kicking off MCU Phase 5. As seen in the Ant-Man 3 post-credits scene, Loki and Mobius are clearly working again together as they observe Victor Timely, a Kang variant, deliver a presentation.

In the stinger, Loki and Mobius are watching Timely. Both appear to be aware of his ties to Kang the Conqueror; tailing him is part of their endeavor to understand the Multiverse Saga villain better. Granted that the Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania post-credits scene doesn’t give context as to how Loki and Mobius start working again together, but the fact that they are re-teaming is a welcome development. This means that Loki season 2 will be able to further capitalize on the pair’s dynamic, which is one of the best things in the Disney+ show’s debut year.

Loki Episode 2 Loki and Mobius At The Ren Fair

Regardless of how Loki convinced Mobius to join his mission, it seems like the pair’s goal is to dig deeper into the mystery surrounding Kang the Conqueror. In the Loki season 1 finale, the God of Mischief lands in a version of the TVA that is not run by the TimeKeepers, but a variant of Kang the Conqueror. Considering the information he got from He Who Remains, Loki will understandably be interested in learning more about the multiverse, especially if he wants to prevent further catastrophe from multiple timelines and realities going haywire.
