Snapchat lets users check how many times their Story has been rewatched, provided they have a Snapchat+ subscription. Other exclusive Snapchat+ features include the ability to pin a Best Friend as a #1 BFF, Priority Story Replies, Post View Emoji, Friend Solar Systems, and a Snapchat+ badge, among others.
While all Snapchat users can see who viewed their Story or took screenshot, Snapchat+ users also get a Rewatch Indicator on Snapchat Stories. The Rewatch Indicator tells users how many times other Snapchatters have rewatched their Stories. The Rewatch Indicator is available for My Story, Private Stories, and even Shared Stories. While the feature might seem like a minor upgrade, it can be very useful, and especially for those who track engagement on the app.
See Who Rewatched Your Snapchat Story
Provided a user has subscribed to Snapchat+, they can open a posted Snapchat Story from Shared Stories, Private Story, or My Story. Swipe up on the Story and look for the 👀 eyes emoji. The number next to this emoji is the Rewatch Indicator. Users can also tap the eyes emoji to see the names of friends who rewatched their Story.
It’s worth noting that this number represents the total number of friends that have rewatched a Story, and not the total rewatch count of the Story. This means Snapchat will indicate if a friend has rewatched a user’s Story, but won’t reveal how many times they rewatched it.
The Rewatch Indicator for Snapchat Stories adds another way for users to see how their content is being received by others. Unfortunately for Snapchat+ users, there’s no way to exclude themselves from being outed on the Rewatch Indicator of other Snapchat+ subscribers.
Why The Rewatch Indicator Isn’t Working
If the Rewatch Indicator doesn’t appear for a Snapchat+ user’s Story, they might need to manually enable the feature first. To do this, open Snapchat and tap the Bitmoji icon in the top left corner. Tap the Snapchat+ membership card, and then turn on the toggle next to ‘Story Rewatch Indicator.’ The eyes emoji should now appear under the user’s Snapchat Stories.
If users don’t want to see the Rewatch Indicator, they can turn it off using the same method above. The other numbers that appear when a user swipes up on their Story indicate how many people viewed the Story and how many took a screenshot. These features are available for all users, and not just Snapchat+ subscribers.
