After solving the Wind Temple’s puzzles by activating five turbine locks, the Colgera boss fight can be triggered from the pedestal near the sealed hatch. As this boss fight takes place in the air, Link must deploy his glider and skydive to dodge Colgera’s attacks and find good angles on its weak spots. It’s recommended that players bring a sturdy bow or two and lots of arrows, as well as a big stockpile of food to restore Link’s health if needed.

The boss fight has two phases, but luckily Colgera doesn’t vary its attacks much in the first phase. Most of Colgera’s body can’t be damaged, so players must target the brittle ice plating on its back and underbelly to deal damage. There are a couple of ways to do this effectively: using Link’s bow to fire arrows at the plating or performing some extremely risky skydiving.

Avoid using a bow when Colgera is moving around, as arrows won’t have the range to hit the beast’s weak spots. Instead, wait for Colgera to disappear into a portal. Link’s companion Tulin will shout a warning that Colgera is about to reappear, charging up at Link from below. Glide out of the way, using Tulin’s Gust if necessary.

Colgera will pass right by Link, exposing the fragile ice plating on its belly to ranged attacks. Aiming down sights with a bow slows down time for an added bonus to accuracy. A couple of shots should be enough to break the plating, exposing a purple weak spot that takes a chunk of Colgera’s health with it when destroyed.

Colgera’s other attack involves firing the ice spikes on its back up at Link. This also exposes some plating that can be destroyed from above. Link can skydive down and smash straight through the plating to take out the weak spot in one hit. After taking out all three weak spots, a short cutscene will play, leading into the second phase of the boss fight.

In the second phase, Colgera will start sending out multiple damage-dealing tornadoes. These can be tough to dodge, but diving and using Tulin’s Gust ability can get Link out of range. Colgera also behaves more aggressively, but otherwise it continues using the same attacks as before.

Hitting Colgera with arrows as it passes by Link after exiting its portal is the best way to deal damage in the second phase. Players shouldn’t hesitate to use extra materials as arrow attachments to gain an edge.

Skydive strikes on Colgera’s back plates are still possible but are harder to pull off in the second phase. Colgera often starts firing its ice spikes from a different angle, so players have to try skydiving diagonally towards the boss to hit weak spots.

Once its three weak spots have been destroyed, Colgera will explode in spectacular fashion, bringing an end to the Wind Temple’s final boss fight. Link will return to solid ground, earning a valuable Heart Container and Tulin’s own Gust ability, allowing players to explore and experience more of Tears of the Kingdom’s world and story.
