In a new trailer for The Golden Bachelor season 1 posted by Bachelor Nation on ABC on YouTube, Gerry revealed details about his late wife Toni’s death. “From June 6, it didn’t go according to plan at all,” he explained, with tears streaming down his face.

Gerry continued, “She became ill and her situation got worse over a couple weeks. And so, we went to the emergency room and she had a bacterial infection that infected her kidneys and affected her liver.” He also noted that he took Toni to the emergency room on July 7, but she sadly passed away days later on July 15.
