Samsung’s Galaxy Book 3 360 isn’t just a cheaper version of the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360. There are significant differences between the two PCs.
The Galaxy Book 3 360 is the lesser-known model of Samsung‘s new Galaxy Book 3 series, but how does it differ from the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360? The Galaxy Book 360 series is Samsung’s line of 2-in-1 convertible laptops with a touchscreen and support for the S Pen stylus. They have a 360-degree hinge that allows for the screen to be folded completely backward so the laptop can be used as a tablet.
While Samsung is targeting the same demographic with the Galaxy Book 3 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, there are significant differences between the two options. For example, the Galaxy Book 3 360 is available in two sizes — a 13.3-inch model and a 15.6-inch model — while the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 only comes with a 16-inch screen like the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. The size of the screen isn’t the only difference.
Galaxy Book 3 360 Vs. Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360: Display & Performance
Both variants of the Galaxy Book 3 360 have a Full HD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 16:9 aspect ratio. On the other hand, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360’s 16-inch screen, which is an AMOLED 2X panel, has a 3K resolution (2880 x 1800) and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a 16:10 aspect ratio that provides more vertical screen real estate. Performance is similar on both the Galaxy Book 3 360 and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 as they are powered by a 13th gen Intel Core i7-1360P processor with an Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU.
The two laptops have 16GB of RAM, however, the 13.3-inch Galaxy Book 3 360 can only be purchased in a 512GB configuration while its 15.6-inch sibling is available to buy in 512GB and 1TB storage options just like the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360. The two laptops have almost identical ports, including a single HDMI 1.4 port, a USB-A 3.2 port, a MicroSD card slot, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. In addition to these, the Galaxy Book 3 360 has a single Thunderbolt 4 port and a single USB-C port whereas the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Galaxy Book 3 360 Vs. Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360: Other Features & Price
The Galaxy Book 3 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 have a fingerprint reader, a Full HD webcam, studio-grade dual microphones, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.1. In addition, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Book 3 360 with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos while the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 should sound better thanks to its AKG quad speakers (also with Dolby Atmos). The 13.3-inch Galaxy Book 3 360 has a 61Wh battery while the 15.6-inch model packs a 68Wh battery. In contrast, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has a 76Wh battery. Nevertheless, both laptops come with a USB-C charger in the box.
Despite both laptops having support for the S Pen, only the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 comes with a stylus in the box. The two Samsung laptops ship with Windows 11 Home pre-installed. Pricing for the Galaxy Book 3 360 starts at $1,299 for the 13.3-inch model and goes up to $1,349 for the 15.6-inch model with 512GB of storage and $1,549 for the 1TB version. On the other hand, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 starts at $1,699 for the 512GB version and $1,899 for the 1TB version. In addition, unlike the non-pro model that’s only available in Graphite, it is available to buy in Beige and Graphite.
The Galaxy Book 3 360 is obviously a smaller and more affordable version of the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, and its lower price comes with tradeoffs such as a lower-res display, fewer speakers, and a missing stylus. Thankfully, performance should be identical as they both use the same processor. However, those who need as much screen estate as they can get are better off with the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and its massive hi-res display.
