The long-awaited third season of Dr. Stone is almost here, and the series’ latest trailer proves that there really is a whole new world out there waiting for them.
Previously, a vague date of “April 2023” was announced for the third season’s premiere, but a new trailer from Crunchyroll confirms that the subtitled version of Dr. Stone New World will debut on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 7:30 AM PDT. The English dubbed version of the series won’t be too far behind, either, as it is now scheduled to premiere on April 20, 2023, at 12:30 PM PDT. Dubs in other languages were also announced, including German, French, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Castilian Spanish, and Italian, although release dates for those dubs were not included.
Dr. Stone Season 3 Premiers on April 6th, 2023
The second season of Dr. Stone ended back in 2021, with only a special aired in 2022, meaning that fans have been waiting on the continuation of the anime for a while now; so long, in fact, that the manga has ended. The second season ended with Senku declaring that their next goal would be to build a ship and begin to explore the Stone World anew, searching for other survivors as well as possible clues to resetting the petrification of all of humanity. A previous teaser trailer for season 3 even implied that Senku might get the chance to meet the forces that petrified Dr. Stone‘s Earth directly.
Of course, despite all the major technological advancements that have already taken place in the series, launching a ship that can cross oceans is no small feat. Senku and his comrades in the Kingdom of Science, as well as the best and brightest of Tsukasa’s recently defeated Empire of Might, will have to work together to achieve this goal. They’ll also need to get their hands on enough supplies to successfully cross the sea, a tall order in and of itself. That means some new characters are likely to enter the mix alongside old favorites like Chrome and Gen. There’s also no telling what kind of threats they might encounter in the wider world, be they from other groups of humans, major creatures, or the beings that petrified humanity in the first place.
With a solid release date that’s now less than a month away, it’s time for fans of Dr. Stone to start getting pumped for the series’ big return in April!
Dr. Stone New World will be available on April 6th on Crunchyroll, while previous seasons are already streaming.
