Ex-Bachelorette Clare Crawley weighs in on accusations from current Bachelor Zach Shallcross that the producers force the show to go a certain way.

The Bachelorette star Clare Crawley responded to a statement made by current The Bachelor lead Zach Shallcross in which he claimed he is not usually allowed to intervene in any drama between the women. Zach is still in the first half of his journey on The Bachelor, and so far, he has been known to eliminate contestants who have caused any drama. While he will not stand for the drama once he is told about it, it is typical in reality TV that the drama will have to play itself out before it is addressed.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a video posted by EW earlier in the month, The Bachelor‘s Zach Shallcross said he wasn’t sure how much he could reveal about the show’s process, but he noted, “When someone steals you, [you] gotta keep [your] mouth shut and let it happen.” The reality TV star essentially claimed that the producers say he is not allowed to intervene in any confrontation, even if he wants to.

The video was recently reposted to the Instagram account @bachelornation.scoop, where ex-Bachelorette star Clare commented, “You don’t ‘have to’ do anything the producers tell you to do. (Just comes with consequences if you don’t).”

Zach added, “There are times when I want to speak up and be like, ‘Oh, yeah. Alright, let’s go talk.’ But it’s for the environment we’re into have it be handled by the women.” While he is good at biting his tongue and letting the drama unfold, Clare was known for doing her own thing during her season of The Bachelorette. Zach continued by saying that he feels like even though he tries to sit back and let the women handle things without his interference, “I think my face gives it away a lot on whether I want to be pulled or not. I’m really bad at hiding what I’m feeling so bad.” Letting it play out seems to be his only option, according to him and Clare, but at the end of the day, viewers can probably see in his face what way he wants things to go.

As far as Bachelor leads go, Zach has been quite open and honest about his experience and his journey so far. Due to the nature of reality TV, it only makes sense that producers intervene and lead the story a certain way from time to time, but so far, Zach has appeared to handle it all quite well. While some seasons are more drama-filled than others, it is always interesting to hear previous Bachelor and Bachelorette leads weigh in on the current season. Once people become a part of Bachelor Nation, they are definitely in it for good.

A lot of Zach’s journey still needs to play out, and there are a lot of unknowns about The Bachelor season 27. While it’s been enjoyable watching Zach’s straightforward approach and no-nonsense takes, it is noticeable that some of the drama is missing. Zach obviously feels that there is still drama happening, as he talks about the producers intervening in his promos for The Bachelor. In the end, it’s all about finding love. Zach’s approach may seem boring to some, but if he ends up with someone, and it works out for them in the end, then he is right in doing it all his way.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
