Cannes Confidential is the newest series about to debut on Acorn TV, a streaming platform from AMC Networks devoted to British and international television, and Screen Rant is proud to exclusively present its first trailer. The romantic crime drama was filmed in the City of Cannes and boasted unprecedented access to the Cote d’Azur. Midsomer Murders writer Chris Murray centers his new detective series on the dynamic between detective Camille Delmasse (Lucie Lucas, Porto and Gloria) and debonair conman Harry King (Jamie Bamber, Battlestar Galactica).
Unveiling just in time for the Cannes Film Festival, the trailer for Cannes Confidential highlights the dynamic duo solving crimes on the French Riviera. The series also stars singer and actor Tamara Marthe (Profilage) as Camille’s colleague Léa Robert, as well as Jean-Hugues Anglade as Camille’s father, who was Chief of Police before facing corruption charges. The first two episodes premiere on Monday, June 26, and the full trailer is below.
More About Cannes Confidential
The trailer for Cannes Confidential, presented exclusively by Screen Rant, gives viewers a sneak peek at the banter between Camille and Henry as well as the mystery surrounding the latter’s reason for being in Cannes. Aside from the breathtaking scenery of the Cote d’Azur, which the series rightfully showcases given that it’s the first English-language procedural to be set there since the 1970s, Cannes Confidential also makes room for high-speed chases and well-choreographed action sequences.
Cannes Confidential recently had its world premiere at the CANNESERIES festival prior to the annual film festival, alongside screenings of other international programs such as Denmark’s Prisoner and South Korea’s Island. What sets this particular project apart is the merging of the glamorous city audiences know at first glance with the lives of its working-class citizens and local tradesmen, allowing Camille and Henry’s worlds to collide as they meet in the middle.
The series is executive produced by Patrick Nebout and Henrik Jansson-Schweizer (who both worked on Midnight Sun), as well as Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer of Acorn Media Enterprises, International Drama Development & Artistic Acquisitions Department of TF1, and Lotta Dolk of Viaplay. It is produced by Daniel J. Cottin at Isolani Pictures, and Camille Delamarre (Assassin Club) directed all six episodes.
Cannes Confidential premieres June 26 on Acorn TV, with two new episodes debuting every Monday through July 10.
