Warning: This post contains major spoilers for Fast X

Fast X introduced Brie Larson’s Tess and her Mr. Nobody connection means the character’s future is bright. The tenth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise included a number of new and familiar faces. With Mr. Nobody mysteriously missing, Tess, Mr. Nobody’s daughter, stepped in to help Dominic Toretto’s team and protect them from Aimes, her father’s predecessor and an associate of Dante Reyes.

Tess was not pleased with the way Aimes was handling Dom’s family’s situation. Rather than abandoning them, however, she plotted to spring Letty out of prison before heading out to aid Dom in the field near the end of the film. As Mr. Nobody’s daughter, Tess was already tied to Dom and his family out of loyalty; she was following in her father’s footsteps. She also doesn’t like Aimes, not seeing eye-to-eye with him about the actions the agency should’ve been taking regarding Dom’s situation. While Tess takes Mr. Nobody’s place as Dom’s agency ally, Fast X establishes her in a way that suggests her work with Dom and his family is far from over.

Brie Larson Was Hardly In Fast X, But She’ll Be Huge In Fast 11

Brie Larson’s Tess was barely in Fast X, appearing in a handful of scenes before being shot and taken out of commission for the time being. And though her scenes in Fast X were primarily used as set up, helping Dom and Letty when they needed someone the most, the fact that she wasn’t killed means that Tess is bound to have a much bigger, and more crucial role in helping Dom and his team fight Dante in Fast & Furious 11. It’s hard to imagine that Mr. Nobody’s daughter would be introduced only for her to disappear later. There’s still a lot to learn about Tess, and she’s already a proven and loyal ally.

Fast X’s Agency Twists Mean Tess Must Bring Back Mr. Nobody

The agency has been working with Dom and his family for quite some time, but Mr. Nobody’s disappearance in Fast X changed the dynamic within the agency. Since Aimes was revealed to be working with Dante all along, the agency is put in a precarious situation that will test the loyalties of its agents. It’s possible Fast & Furious 11 will see Tess searching for her father so that they can team up against Aimes to take back control of the agency. Mr. Nobody has been an important part of the Fast & Furious franchise, and Fast X’s agency twists make his disappearance all the more suspicious.

His return after Fast X’s events will be all the more relieving. Dom and his family need all the help they can get. While Aimes puts all his energy into working with Dante, Tess could find her father, perhaps cutting off Aimes to the agency’s resources in the process. She’s good at locating people and her injury will allow her to slow down a bit to focus on Mr. Nobody’s whereabouts. Mr. Nobody has to return to undo Aimes’ corruption and help Dom — even if it’s for the last time. It’s unlikely that Fast & Furious 11 will leave Mr. Nobody’s absence unresolved, and it’s possible he will reappear, fighting Aimes and Dante alongside Tess.
