PJ is a senior at Rock Ridge High School, and she creates a fight club with her best friend, Josie, in order to draw the attention of her cheerleader crush, Brittany. The misfit character has an unapologetically big personality that often rubs her fellow students the wrong way.

In 2020, Sennott got her first big break, acting as Hannah Rosen in the queer coming-of-age movie Tahara. Prior to her first major acting role, she performed in a number of short films, including Hostess, ATM, and Wakey Wakey. The actress is best known for her role as Danielle in the movie Shiva Baby. Sennott has also appeared in the feature films Bodies Bodies Bodies, Susie Searches, and I Used to Be Funny. Throughout the movie Bottoms, Ayo Edebiri plays Josie, a shy high school senior at Rock Ridge High School. She joins PJ in starting her fight club, but Josie hopes to catch the eye of a cheerleader named Isabel. Unlike her best friend, Josie isn’t confident or self-assured, preferring to keep quiet while going along with PJ’s hijinks.

Edebiri got her first big acting role as Hattie in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson. She’s best known for lending her voice to Glory in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. She also portrayed Sydney Adamu in the popular show The Bear. In addition to these productions, she voiced characters in the animated shows Big Mouth, Mulligan, Clone High, and Bigtop Burger.

Kaia Gerber as Brittany: Played by Kaia Gerber, Brittany is PJ’s cheerleader crush who joins the fight club in Bottoms.
