Beetlejuice 2 cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos teases the story details and theme of the Tim Burton sequel, which will continue the tale of the 1988 horror comedy. While official details for Beetlejuice 2 are still unknown, some clues could hint at how the sequel will continue the character’s journey since the original movie. Early Beetlejuice 2 set photos have seemingly revealed that the sequel will again occur in the Maitland and Deetz’s hometown of Winter River, Connecticut, 30 years after the original movie’s events. It will also expand on the afterlife, as Willem Defoe is set to portray an undead lawman ensuring order among the dead, while Justin Theroux has been cast in an undisclosed role.
Beetlejuice 2 will continue the personal stories of the Deetz family, with Jenna Ortega cast as Lydia’s daughter. Furthermore, Beetlejuice has seemingly found love and married a character played by Monica Belucci.
