Former lead of The Bachelor, Colton Underwood, recently tied the knot with his husband, Jordan C. Brown, in a beautiful and fun-filled three-day wedding. Though Colton was cast as the Bachelor and left his season in a relationship with Cassie Randolph, he eventually revealed that he is gay. Colton has been praised for now living an authentic life. The couple met in April 2021, and Colton and Jordan got engaged in February 2022.
Colton and now-husband Jordan planned a truly magical wedding, which took place on Saturday 13, in Napa Valley. “I’ve never been more sure about something,” Colton told People about his new husband, and gave details about their epic wedding weekend. The weekend began with a welcome party on Friday before the 200 guest ceremony on Saturday. “The day of our ceremony, we have a disco-themed pool party,” Colton said. “It’s…a fun wedding.” Jordan spoke about wanting “trees around and sunshine,” making the couple’s Napa Valley wedding venue the perfect place. Colton and Jordan also treated their guests to a surprise performance by Stanford University’s artistic swimming team after the ceremony.
How Colton & Jordan Incorporated Queer Culture In Their Wedding
For Colton and Jordan, it was also very important to incorporate queer culture, as “we recognize that a lot of people attending, both of our families and some of our friends, this will be their first queer wedding. We really want to make it special,” Colton said. The couple formed a “loving walk,” which included “images of men in love throughout history” placed throughout the resort, alongside “love letters from queer people in the 18th and 19th century.” Colton and Jordan were looking to “break some of the traditional norms of what a ceremony and a wedding look like,” according to Colton, and it seems like the couple achieved just that.
There are many Bachelor Nation weddings taking place in 2023, but Colton and Jordan’s will certainly stand out from the pack. From their description of their nuptials, Colton and Jordan were thoughtful of their guests and planned a truly fun weekend for them. Their wedding was both heartfelt and entertaining, which is exactly what most wedding guests hope for. However, Colton received a lot of criticism in the past, regarding the toxic way he treated Cassie at the end of their relationship, and not everyone will be glad that Colton got his happy ending. But that didn’t seem to bother Colton on what seems like the happiest day of his life.
Colton’s Bachelor Nation journey was a complete disaster, but his time thrust into the spotlight may have helped him to take a closer look at himself. For most of his life, Colton was not able to be fully comfortable in his own skin, and where he’s at today, with his loving husband by his side, shows tremendous personal growth. It seems that Colton’s wedding was everything he’d hoped it would be, and the former lead of The Bachelor couldn’t be happier.
