In an exciting turn of events, it has been reported that Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters has been discharged from her rehab facility. The Kentucky native has been staying in a long-term care facility since her near-death experience. She has been learning new ways to live healthier and is looking forward to a fresh start.
After 14 months of living in Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center, U.S. Sun reported that 1000-Lb Sisters‘ Tammy Slaton has been discharged. A source shared that the 36-year-old is sober and finally on a healthier path in life. Along with a 300-pound weight loss, Tammy has also given up drinking alcohol, smoking, and vaping for the last nine months. Even though Tammy is still working on being able to walk long distances and even drive, the 1000-Lb Sisters star can now reportedly “fit” into the front seat of a car.
1000-Lb Sisters Star Tammy Slaton’s Health Is Improving
The source close to the Slaton family even revealed to the U.S. Sun that Tammy can now stand for short bursts and hug her family. Her new lease on life came after months of hard work and dedication. The star once shared in a 1000-Lb Sisters episode that she used to drink eight bottles of alcohol a week. TLC cameras often caught her vaping and eating pizza while asking her friends to pour her shots. However, it finally looks like Tammy has turned over a new leaf.
1000-Lb Sisters season 3 showed that Tammy stopped breathing after a night of partying, which led to a lot of worrying about her health. The TLC personality was rushed to the hospital, where she then fell into a coma. Doctors feared she might never recover and told her family to prepare for the worst. However, Tammy woke up but was given a trach to help her breathe since she couldn’t do it alone. She was then transported to the Ohio rehab center to hopefully help her get her life back on track.
Tammy qualified for gastric bypass surgery this past summer; since then, her life has been turning around. The 1000-Lb Sisters star has lost weight and has been seen working out at the facility’s gym. She even found love as she revealed in November that she married a fellow patient, Caleb Willingham. The couple has leaned on one another for moral support. Now that Tammy has left, fans will have to wait to see when Caleb can be discharged. With Tammy at home, hopefully, she can keep up the good work and not fall off the wagon.
1000-Lb Sisters airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
